We do not recommend you trek to the Everest base camp trek during this time. During the early mornings and evenings, the weather is foggy and cloudy obstructing the clear sightings of the snow-covered peaks. 

Everest Base Camp In January

January, the mid-winter month in Nepal allows you to witness the clear blue skies and landscape views. Despite the frosty weather conditions, you will witness astounding mountain views. However, the entire surrounding is covered by heavy snowfall and the highly elevated trekking trails are also blocked. 

Trekkers need to be extra cautious as the temperature during the nights and early mornings can get below freezing points reaching up to -17°C. The maximum temperature during this tiperiods 4°C during the daytime. With extra caution and prior management, this trek is doable in January as well. 

Everest Base Camp In February

February is the last winter month in Nepal. February offers a warmer temperature compared to the previous winter months. Also, the frequency of rainfall reduces dramatically and the lower elevations are mild and humid. Trekking to the Everest base camp during this time is comfortable offering moderate temperatures. At the end of this month; the days get brighter, sunnier, and clearer.
