Tour Overview

Langtang Valley trek trail is very close to Kathmandu with most of its residents being Tamangs and pre-Tibetans. Langtang Valley trek trails through the Langtang National Park, the first national park of Nepal with occasional views of some interesting animals and birds. The pure, roaring Langtang River and the region surrounding it, dominated by the Rhododendron, Oak and Pine forests provides a blend of experience of Tibetan lifestyle and wild, rural, scenic landscape and the warm hospitality of the ethnic populations residing there to the trekkers.

Syabrubesi, a beautiful Tamang village, surrounded by hills and the Bhote Koshi River is the starting point of the trek. The Langtang National Park which consists of an accumulation of climates varying between subtropical to alpine, can be seen on the drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. This is followed by a trek to the Langtang village, a village with Tibetan influence. The famous monastery of the region, Kyanging Gompa, a heritage site for Buddhists lies next in the path. From Kyanging Ri the trek trails along with exquisite views of the Langtang and other Tibetan mountains to Cherko Ri 4950m, which marks the end of the trek. Retracing the same path ends the trek.

Another trail through the Langtang valley can include the viewpoint of the Langtang Ganja La Pass located at a height of 5122m and offering exquisite glimpses of the Langtang Lirung and other Tibetan peaks beyond. Out of the two available trails, this Langtang Valley trek however is comparatively difficult due to the unavailability of lodging and food facilities, thus making it mandatory to rely upon camping and self cooking. But with a dedicated and experienced group of potters and guides, the trek will give trekkers a never before experience which will leave them wanting for more.
