Climbing to the summit of one of the famous mountain ranges of our country is a lifetime dream to all the trekkers and mountaineers of the world. Island Peak, a spectacular viewpoint situated in the Everest Region of Nepal, is also known as the Imja Tse by the Sherpas. It is given this specific name owing to its location in the Chhukhung Valley amidst glaciers surrounding it. The trail to the Island Peak follows the same route as that of the Everest Base Camp Trek and is a very challenging and extremely popular climbing destination in Nepal.
Island peak trek offers the majestic views of Himalayan ranges including some of the highest mountains of the world such as Everest (Highest mountain of the world), Lhotse, Makalu, Pumori, Annapurna, Cho-Oyu, Shishgampa, Amadablam, Lobuche East and other many beautiful mountains of our country. You will also get an opportunity to explore the ancient and authentic lifestyle, culture and traditions of Sherpa and Magar settlements that are living in this region since many years.Some of the major attractions of this trek are the Sagarmatha National Park, opportunity to explore the ancient Sherpa and Magar settlements, unique and dramatic landscapes, Namche Bazar (Gateway of Everest), Kalapatthar (Famous viewpoint of Khumbu region), Everest Base Camp, Khumbu Ice Falls and other many majestic things of Khumbu region.
Our journey to Island peak starts with a short flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. We will start our trek from Lukla and then trek via Khumjung to reach the gateway of Everest, Namche Bazar. Next day we will hike to Gokyo valley and see the beautiful Gokyo Ri lake. Trekking via Lobuche will lead us to the Everest Base Camp and then we will continue our trek to see the beautiful Himalayas from a famous viewpoint called Kalapatthar. We will then start to climb on the Island peak and reach the base camp of Island peak. Next day we will climb the summit of Island peak which will be our final destination. We will then descend to Lukla and then take a short flight to return Kathmandu and end our trek.
