Tour Overview

Mera Peak, located at the edge of Khumbu region is a famous and demanding peak climbing mountain in our country and every year thousands of trekkers and mountaineers reach to the summit of this mountain in search of true adventure and fun. A trek to the summit of Mera peak is especially designed for those trekkers and mountaineers who wish to climb to one of the summits of our country and also want an experience on climbing the highest mountains of our country. One with a moderate trekking experience can easily complete this trek.

Mera peak offers the visitors with the spectacular view of snowcapped mountains including some of the highest mountains of the world such as Everest, Lhotse, Chamlang, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Baruntse, Cho-oyu, Kantega, Nuptse and other many beautiful mountain ranges. You will also get an opportunity to explore the lifestyle and culture of people living in this region. One should need a good physical stamina and good climbing experience to reach to the summit of this beautiful mountain. You will get some climbing skills and technique from our professional guides in the base camp which will help you to reach to the summit of this mountain.

The journey to trek to Mera peak starts with a short and scenic flight to the south of Lukla. This short flight offers the great views of Himalayan ranges form the aircraft. We will then start our trek from South Lukla and then start to ascend to reach the beautiful and remote Hinku valley. Trail to Hinku valley offers a great opportunity to see the beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. After reaching the Hinku valley, we will explore entire valley, the natural beauty of valley and moreover we will see the lifestyle and cultures of people living in this beautiful valley. Trekking along the Hinku valley will lead us to our destination, The summit of Mera Peak. Moreover, climbing through the icy glaciers and rocky hills will give you the memory that will last for your entire life.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1350m) and Hotel transfer

Pre-departure meeting in the afternoon and dinner together.

Day 2Half day city tours and check all equipment and if need to buy or hired time for that.

Day 3We take morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla(2800m) and spend the rest of the day in Lukla for acclimatization. Lodge accommodation

Day 4Trek from Lukla to Chutanga(3050m) which take about four hours trek.

Day 5Trek from Chutanga to Tuli Kharka (Chatra-La) (3900m) which takes about six hours

 You trek via Zatrawa La Pass (4610m) and downclimb to Khartitang at 3900m.

Day 6Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe (4095m) this takes about five hours.

Day 7Trek from Kothe to Tangnang (4,350m) which takes about four hours trek.

We will enjoy fantastic view of south face of Mera Peak throughout the day.

Day 8Rest and acclimatization day at Thangnak

 In the day you will visit Sabal Tsho Lake and take an acclimatization hike to the cairn (5271m) on the flank of Kusum Kangguru (6367m).

Day 9Trek from Tangnang to Khare (5,045m)

 This takes about three and half hours.

Day 10Trek and climb from Khare to Mera Base Camp (5300m)

This takes about four to five hours. You all have to become familiar with using crampons, rope, and ice axe.

Day 11Trek and climb from Mera Base Camp to High camp (5,780m): 4-5hrs

Day 12Summit Day; Mera High Camp to Summit (6,654m) and return to Khare.

Day 13Trek from Khare to Kothe (3600m)

This takes about five hours trek.

Day 14Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka

This takes about six hours trek.

Day 15Thuli Kharka to Lukla: via Zatrwa La pass

This is last evening in the mountains, the ideal opportunity for a farewell party with our staff.

Day 16Early in the morning fly from Lukla to Kathmandu, which takes about 35 minutes, transfer to hotel. leisure and shopping day in Kathmandu;

Day 17Free Day in Kathmandu:Rest before fly home.

Day 18Transfer to the airport for final departure or alternatively join other activities.
